1st day Perth to Norseman via Hyden 700 km of which 300 km was on dirt! We had rain, squalls, strong westerly wind and cold but all went well.
2nd day we made Cocklebiddy. Many road trains and many more grey nomads.
1 234 567 Kangaroos!
3rd day we made Nollarbor Roadhouse. Along the way we met up with two cyclist going from Perth to Sydney. - Crazy!
At the roadhouse we met a SA chopper pilot Mike Reid from PE and we made too many connections. Andre was scared that we would find out that we are actually family.
The next morning we watched Mike go about his pre-flight inspection, make a running repair on the fuel system and then take off for a re-fuel stop at Forrest, Kal and onto Perth.
The distance from Nullarbor to towns west and east
4th day we made Ceduna and booked into a cabin in a caravan park. Along the way we stopped at the Head of the Bite and watched the Southern Right Wales and their calves busy in the nursery in prep for their long trek south in 4 weeks time. Calves born in July, weigh 1000 kg and measure 5 m in lenght and then start to feed from their mothers while gaining 90 kgs per day!
